Special Forces (Alice Cooper Album)
''Special Forces'' is the sixth solo studio album by American rock singer Alice Cooper, released in September 1981 by Warner Records, Warner Bros. Records. It was produced by Richard Podolor, best known for his work with Three Dog Night. Alice Cooper appeared on ''The Tomorrow Show'' with Tom Snyder to promote ''Special Forces'', being interviewed and looking very gaunt in full military-Drag (clothing), drag make-up, after which he gave live performances of "Who Do You Think We Are" and his cover version of Love (band), Love's "7 and 7 Is, Seven and Seven Is", both from the album. Cooper toured ''Special Forces'' through the United States, Canada, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, but other than the aforementioned songs he played no further ''Special Forces'' songs live, except for snippets of "Vicious Rumours" at a few shows in the U.S. and Scotland. Frederick Lawrence Mandel (born 1953) is a Canadian session musician, keyboard player and guitarist. Career Born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Mandel became involved in music from an early age. He started playing the piano at four and picked up the guitar aged eight. Growing up in an Orthodox Jewish household, he found his parents less than encouraging of his musical endeavors. Nevertheless, in 1964, at the age of 11, with his family having moved to Toronto, he became immersed in the local music scene. Mandel made his first appearance on record courtesy of Domenic Troiano (whose band he was in at the time). Troiano was invited to record on Alice Cooper's first solo record and got Mandel to play keyboards on the record. This led to Alice Cooper inviting Mandel to join his live band. Davey Johnstone
David William Logan Johnstone (born 6 May 1951) is a British rock guitarist and vocalist, best known for his long-time collaboration with Elton John as a member of the Elton John Band. Career Johnstone's first work was with Noel Murphy in 1968, where he received his first album credit on the album ''Another Round''. By 1969, Johnstone had secured regular work as a session musician, where he began to branch out and explore differing genres of music, and experiment with a variety of instruments. In 1970, when Lyell Tranter (one of the two guitarists in the acoustic British folk group Magna Carta) left the band, Johnstone took his place as a member. Arthur Taylor Lee (born Arthur Porter Taylor; March 7, 1945 – August 3, 2006) was an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame as the leader of the Los Angeles rock band Love. Alice Cooper (also known as the Alice Cooper Group or the Alice Cooper Band) was an American rock band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1964. After a hiatus from the music industry after the release of ''DaDa'' (1983), Cooper remained in seclusion for three years.
