Speaker Of The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly
The Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is the presiding officer of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh, the main law-making body for the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. In the Republic of India, the various central and state legislatures are presided by either a Speaker or a Chairman. The Speaker is elected in the very first meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly after the General elections for a term of 5 years from amongst the members of the Saasana Sabha. The Speaker holds office until either they ceases to be a member of the Saasana Sabha or he himself resigns. The Speaker can be removed from office by a resolution passed in the Saasana Sabha by an effective majority of its members. In the absence of a Speaker, the meeting of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is presided over by the Deputy Speaker. Emblem Of Andhra Pradesh
The Emblem of Andhra Pradesh is the state emblem of Andhra Pradesh, India. Design The emblem features a Purna Ghataka at the centre encircled by a Dharmachakra symbolising the "wheel of law", portrayed from Amaravati school of arts, surrounded by the name of the state in Telugu, English and Sanskrit. Soorisetty Anjineyulu, a drawing master from Nellore is the creator of the emblem, which was selected out of 300 emblems that were submitted. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy
Neelam Sanjiva Reddy (; 19 May 1913 – 1 June 1996) was an Indian politician who served as the sixth President of India, serving from 1977 to 1982. Beginning a long political career with the Indian National Congress Party in the independence movement, he went on to hold several key offices in independent India — as Deputy Chief minister of Andhra state and the first Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, a two-time Speaker of the Lok Sabha and a Union Minister— before becoming the Indian president. Born in present-day Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, Reddy completed his schooling at Adayar and joined the Government Arts College at Anantapur. He quit to become an Indian independence activist and was jailed for participating in the Quit India Movement. Telugu Desam Party
The Telugu Desam Party (; TDP) is an Indian regional political party operating in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at the state and central level. Since its founding by N. T. Rama Rao (often referred to as NTR) on 29 March 1982, the party has focused on supporting Telugu speakers. Since 1995, NTR's son-in-law, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has led the party. The TDP currently holds three Lok Sabha seats, one Rajya Sabha seat, and is the main opposition party in both houses of Andhra Pradesh's legislature. Soon after its founding, the TDP won a majority in the 1983 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. As the state's 10th Chief Minister, NTR was the first officeholder not affiliated with the Indian National Congress (INC). Tangi Satyanarayana ( te, తంగి సత్యనారాయణ) (1931 – 25 October 2009) was an Indian politician. He was elected as an Independent candidate from Srikakulam in 1967. Later he joined the Telugu Desam Party and was reelected in 1983 under the leadership of N. T. Rama Rao. He served as the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 18 January 1983 to 28 August 1984 during the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government. After the fall of N. T. Rama Rao's government, he joined with Nadendla Bhaskara Rao and subsequently, was made revenue minister for a brief period. Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy
Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy (16 August 1920 – 27 September 2001) served as the chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh in 1983 and then from 1992 to 1994. Reddy was a member of the Indian National Congress and was elected to the Lok Sabha six times. Reddy also served as a Union cabinet Minister, along with serving on several parliamentary committees. He lost the 1999 elections and subsequently retired from active politics. Botanical Garden in Hyderabad is named after him. Early life Reddy was born in the remote village of Laddagiri in the Kurnool district to the family of a landlord. He began his involvement in politics at Nandyal gram panchayat and eventually became involved in the national level. Bhavanam Venkatarami Reddy
Bhavanam Venkatrami Reddy (18 July 1931 – 7 April 2002) was the chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) between February 1982 and September 1982. He was a member of the Congress party and served as cabinet minister in various AP governments. His active carrier in politics started in 1970s. He started his political career as a Youth Congress activist. From there he reached the position of Member of Legislative Assembly later became education minister in Chenna Reddy's cabinet in 1978. He also served in the cabinet of Tanguturi Anjaiah before becoming chief minister on 24 February 1982. He only served as the chief minister for a brief period, until 19 September 1982, representing Indian National Congress. He died on 7 April 2002 after brief illness. Kona Prabhakara Rao (10 July 1916 – 20 October 1990) was an Indian politician. He was a member of the Indian National Congress party and was elected four times as Member of the Legislative Assembly From Bapatla (Assembly constituency). Early life and education Kona Prabhakar Rao was born in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, into a wealthy Telugu Niyogi Brahmin family in Bapatla. He did most of his schooling in Bapatla. At the age of 16, Rao conducted a boycott of schools when late Motilal Nehru died. He was a social and political worker and took active part in the Salt Satyagraha movement and Quit India Movement of 1942. In Bapatla he organised a youth league and promoted the use of khadi. Marri Chenna Reddy
Dr. Marri Channa Reddy (13 January 1919 – 2 December 1996) was an Indian politician active in several states. He was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1978 to 1980 and from 1989 to 1990. He also served as the governor of Uttar Pradesh (1974–1977), governor of Punjab (1982–1983), governor of Rajasthan from February 1992 to May 1993, and governor of Tamil Nadu from 1993 until his death. Jalagam Vengal Rao or Jalagam Vengala Rao (May 1921 – 12 June 1999) was for much of his life a member of the Indian National Congress and was the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh which is now divided into two states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Early life Rao hailed from Bayyannagudem in Khammam district (currently part of the Telangana state).
