Purr Machine are an American electro-industrial group based in Los Angeles, California, and comprising guitarist Kirk Hellie, bassist Kevin Kipnis and vocalist Betsy Martin. They band were known for their atmospheric blend of electronica, gothic music and industrial rock. With Kevin Kipnis serving as their main songwriter and programmer, Purr Machine released '' Speak Clearly'' and '' Ging Ging'' respectively in 1999 and 2000 for Re-Constriction Records. Society Burning is an American coldwave industrial rock band composed of Daveoramma (born Dave Mansfield, aka Dave Creadeau), Twitch, and Boom chr Paige (born Boom Fernandez). The group was founded in Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 1991 and was originally named 'The Watchmen' (a tribute to the Alan Moore graphic novel). History Daveoramma (born Dave Mansfield) began recording music in 1991 under the name "Watchmen" with one other person while at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Reception Steve Kurutz of Allmusic criticized ''Ging Ging'' for being "difficult album to listen to" that "create a near impenetrable aural wall for listeners." Despite this, "he concluded that during the album's softer moments, "Regarding Mary" and "There's More" among them, the album does achieve moments of beauty."
