Speak (Godsmack Song)
"Speak" is a single by the rock band Godsmack from their fourth album '' IV''. It reached number one on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and number ten on the Modern Rock chart. Song origin Tony Rombola wrote the music for "Speak". He recalled: "While on tour with Metallica, Robbie, Shannon and I were jamming in the dressing room. Sully Erna popped his head in the room 'cause he really liked the riff we were playin' and he pretty much wrote the melody and finished the song right then and there." "The chorus opened up in a way that I would never have thought to write", said Erna. Music video The music video for the song (directed by Wayne Isham) shows people performing stunts on cars, motorcycles, etc. with clips of the band playing. The video also features Danny Koker from Count's Kustoms, who would later go on to star in '' Counting Cars''. Godsmack is an American rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. The band is composed of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Sully Erna, bassist Robbie Merrill, lead guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. Since its formation, Godsmack has released seven studio albums, one EP ('' The Other Side''), four DVDs, one compilation album ('' Good Times, Bad Times... Ten Years of Godsmack''), and one live album (''Live & Inspired''). The band has released three consecutive number-one albums ('' Faceless'', '' IV'' and '' The Oracle'') on the ''Billboard'' 200. Godsmack is an American rock band founded in 1995 by singer Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill. The band has released eight studio albums, one EP, two compilations, three video albums, and thirty-four singles. Erna and Merrill recruited local friend and guitarist Lee Richards and drummer Tommy Stewart to complete the band's lineup. In 1996, Tony Rombola replaced Richards, as the band's guitarist. In 1998, Godsmack released their self-titled debut album, a remastered version of the band's self-released debut, '' All Wound Up...''. Jeremy Andrew "Andy" Johns (20 May 1950 – 7 April 2013) was a British sound engineer and record producer who worked on several well-known rock albums, including the Rolling Stones' ''Exile on Main St.'' (1972), Television's ''Marquee Moon'' (1977), and a series of albums by Led Zeppelin during the 1970s. Shannon Larkin
James Shannon Larkin (born April 24, 1967) is an American musician, best known as the drummer of rock band Godsmack. He replaced the previous drummer Tommy Stewart in June 2002. Prior to Godsmack, he was a member of Amen, Candlebox, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero (formerly Wrathchild America). Shannon played drums for Godsmack for their albums '' Faceless'', '' IV'', '' The Other Side EP'', '' The Oracle'', '' 1000hp'', and their latest album ''When Legends Rise''. Career Larkin has been playing drums since the age of ten. He formed Wrathchild America in 1978, recording two albums for Atlantic Records before being dropped by the label.
