Spaugstofan
Spaugstofan is an Icelandic comedy group, formed in 1985, best known for their namesake weekly Saturday night sketch comedy show that has been broadcast, with breaks, and under various names, on the public television channel Sjónvarpið, and later on Stöð 2, from 1989 to 2014. The show is the highest rated regular program on Icelandic television. Generally, the sketches satirize public events of the past week, or the exploits of recurring characters in the show. Spaugstofan's current lineup consists of actors Örn Árnason, Karl Ágúst Úlfsson, Pálmi Gestsson and Sigurður Sigurjónsson. Randver Þorláksson was a part of the original cast but left before the 2007–2008 season. Before Randver left, the lineup had remained more or less unchanged since the group was formed. Sigurður Sigurjónsson
Sigurður Sigurjónsson, commonly referred to as Siggi Sigurjóns, is an Icelandic actor, comedian and screenwriter, best known as a member of the comedy group Spaugstofan. He has starred in a number of films and television series since the late 1970s, as well as acting in the National Theatre of Iceland. He is famous for his recurring characters in the ''Spaugstofan'' television series, including Ragnar Reykás and ''Kristján Ólafsson''. Sigurður has starred in many seasons of the annual television special Áramótaskaupið. He is also one of the leading Icelandic voice actors and has dubbed numerous animated features. In March 2015, Sigurjóns appeared in the music video for "Crystals," the lead single from the Of Monsters and Men album " Beneath the Skin". Örn Árnason (born 19 June 1959) is an Icelandic actor, comedian and screenwriter, best known as a member of the comedy group ''Spaugstofan''. He has starred in a number of films and television series since the 1980s, as well as acting in the National Theatre of Iceland. He is noted for his satirical portrayals of public figures, including former Icelandic Prime Minister Davíð Oddsson. Örn hosted the children's morning program '' Með Afa'' on ''Stöð 2''. Pálmi Gestsson
Pálmi Gestsson (born 2 October 1957) is an Icelandic actor and voice actor. He is known for the long-running Icelandic sketch group ''Spaugstofan'' which he co-created. Among his voice acting is the Icelandic voice of Shere Khan in ''The Jungle Book''. Early life Pálmi was born in 1957 in Bolungarvík, the Westfjords, Iceland. Career Pálmi graduated from the Icelandic Drama School in 1982. He has been working with the National Theatre of Iceland since 1983. Personal life Pálmi is a nature lover and once walked up 52 mountains (1 per week) in a year in Iceland. He likes hunting birds and especially reindeer which is one of his favorite foods. He is married to Sigurlaug Halldórsdóttir, a stewardess, and has 4 children. Stöð 2 (literally Station 2) is an Icelandic subscription television channel, owned and operated by Sýn. Founded in 1986, it was the first privately owned television station in Iceland following the lifting of the state monopoly on television broadcasting.
