Spartak Moscow–Dynamo Kyiv Rivalry
The Spartak Moscow – Dynamo Kyiv derby is a major international football rivalry between former Soviet giants Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Kyiv that developed in the Soviet Top League. A Spartak – Kyiv match often hosts the biggest crowd of all Soviet Top League matches, especially after the last league reorganization in 1970. The match became more popular even than the Oldest Russian derby between Dynamo Moscow and Spartak that had been the longest-running top event of the league since its establishment in 1936. The two clubs were the most successful in the Soviet Top League, with Dynamo having won 13 titles to Spartak's 12. Spartak, however, has a better match record. Nikita Simonyan
Nikita Pavlovich Simonyan ( hy, Նիկիտա Մկրտիչ Սիմոնյան, born ''Mkrtych Pogosovich Simonyan'', 12 October 1926) is a former Soviet football striker and coach of Armenian descent. He was born in Armavir. As of 2021 he was the Russian football functionary First Vice-President of the Russian Football Union. Simonyan was awarded the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR title in 1954, the Honored Coach of Russia title in 1968, the Merited Coach of the USSR title in 1970 and the Commander of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" award in 2011. Simonyan is the top scorer in the history of the club Spartak Moscow at 160 goals. Club career Simonyan was a player for FC Dinamo Sukhumi during his youth career. Aleksei Paramonov
Aleksei Aleksandrovich Paramonov (russian: Алексей Александрович Парамонов; 21 February 1925 – 24 August 2018) was a Soviet football player and manager, 1956 Olympic champion. He was born in Borovsk. Biography Paramonov and his wife Yulia Vasilievna were married from 1950 until his death and had a daughter. In 2016 Yulia Paramonova died. Aleksei died at a hospital in Moscow from a brief illness on 24 August 2018, aged 93. Sergei Salnikov
Sergei Sergeyevich Salnikov (russian: Серге́й Серге́евич Сальников; 13 September 1925 – 9 May 1984) was a Soviet footballer who played for Zenit Leningrad, Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow. He was part of the Soviet Union national team that won the gold medal at the 1956 Olympics. Club career After two years with Zenit Leningrad, during which he scored against Spartak Moscow in the semifinal of the 1944 Soviet Cup, which Zenit ultimately won, Salnikov joined Spartak as a 21-year-old in 1946. He won the Cup with Spartak in 1946 and 1947. Salnikov scored two goals and made another in the final match of the 1949 season against Dynamo Moscow, when Spartak narrowly missed out on the Soviet Top League title in a 5–4 defeat that some consider the greatest match of the era. 2008–09 UEFA Champions League
The 2008–09 UEFA Champions League was the 54th edition of Europe's premier club football tournament and the 17th edition under the current UEFA Champions League format. The final was played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 27 May 2009. It was the eighth time the European Cup final has been held in Italy and the fourth time it has been held at the Stadio Olimpico.
