Sparta (Athletic Club)
Sparta Atletik is a Danish track and field club, and one of the leading clubs in Denmark. The club is known for winning the major part of the individual medals at the Danish championships, and having the most athletes represented on the different national teams. The most famous athlete ever to have represented Sparta is the former 800 metres world record-holder and current 1000 and 800 metres distance indoors world record-holder Wilson Kipketer, who won gold medals representing Sparta in three successive editions of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, and took medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Kipketer's 800 meters world record on an outdoor track stood undefeated for almost 13 years. Rikke Rønholt (born 1 January 1976) is a Danish athlete. She is a part of Sparta Athletics team. She started doing athletics when she was 12 years old. Back then she participated in events from 60 metres to heptathlon and shot put. When she ran her first 400 metres hurdles she was less than a second from qualifying for the European Junior Championships. She represents Sparta. Christina Scherwin
Christina Scherwin (born 11 July 1976) is a Danish people, Danish javelin thrower. Scherwin threw the javelin at the Athens Athletics at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's javelin throw, 2004 Summer Olympics and the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. Her biggest success was at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics, 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, where she threw the javelin 63.43 meters, placing fourth overall in the event. Morten Jensen (athlete)
Morten Jensen (born 2 December 1982 in Lynge) is a Danish former track and field athlete. He specialised in the long jump and also competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres sprints. He holds the Danish record in the long jump and formerly held the national records in the 100 metres and indoor 200 metres. He competed at the World Championships in Athletics in 2005 and 2007, the 2006 World Indoor Championships, the 2006 European Championships, the 2007 World Championships, and the 2008 Olympic Games without qualifying for the final round. Mogens Daniel Guldberg (born 2 August 1963 in Kalundborg) is a former middle distance runner from Denmark, who represented his native country at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. There he was eliminated in the semifinals of the 1500 metres. He represented Sparta. He finished twelfth at the 1990 European Championships. Piotr Buciarski (born 22 November 1975 in Warsaw, Poland) is a retired Danish pole vaulter of Polish descent. His personal best jump is 5.75 metres, achieved in April 2002 in Fort-de-France. This is the current national record. He represented Sparta and later the University of Oregon. Buciarski is a two-time national champion (2000 and 2002) in the men's decathlon.
