MTV Brand New was a 24-hour specialist music channel featuring new music videos, alternative and indie music available in the Netherlands, Germany. In Italy, it was replaced by MTV Rocks in 2011. The Italian version of the channel launched on 14 September 2003; it then launched in the Netherlands on 1 August 2006. The German-speaking version of the channel launched in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 1 February 2011. Owl City is an American electronic music project created in 2007 in Owatonna, Minnesota. It is one of several projects by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young, who created the project while experimenting with music in his parents' basement. The Virgins
The Virgins were an American indie rock band formed in 2006 in New York City. The band split up in November 2013. History 2006–2007: Formation Frontman Donald Cumming began writing music by himself in his New York apartment. He then recruited friends to fill out the band. Almost immediately they made a five-song EP titled '' The Virgins '07'', compiled of the band's early recordings, and songs Donald had already recorded himself. Upon completion, Cumming passed out the EP to friends and DJs causing the music to pervade the New York club scene. Soon after, the demo came across Atlantic Records who signed Cumming before the band was fully formed. Joe Lean & the Jing Jang Jong were an English indie rock band based in London. Although the band attracted considerable press attention following the 2007 release of their debut single "Lucio Starts Fires" they failed to capitalise on this, and disbanded in 2010. The band are perhaps best known for failing to ever release their critically acclaimed debut album.
