''Spangles'' is a 1928 British silent drama film directed by George Banfield and starring Fern Andra, Forrester Harvey and Lewis Dayton. It was made at Walthamstow Studios. A circus girl goes to London and enjoys great success. George Banfield
George Banfield (1888–1963) was a British film producer and director. He first entered the film industry in 1908. During the mid-1920s he began producing series of short films during the Slump of 1924. In 1926 he formed a new company British Filmcraft, and bought Walthamstow Studios.Low p.196-197 The company produced a large number of shorts, and four feature films but did not make the transition from silent to sound films. He is sometimes credited as George J. Banfield. Gladys Frazin
Gladys Frazin (June 21, 1900 – March 9, 1939) was an American stage and film actress. She appeared in a mixture of American and British films. On Broadway, Frazin played Mimi in ''The Masked Woman'' (1922). Also on stage she featured in Edgar Wallace's 1930 West End hit '' On the Spot''. Frazin was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Frazin. She was married to comedian Monty Banks, her fourth husband, from 1929 to 1932, when they divorced. Her first husband was Leo Lowenstein, and they had a son, Leo Lowenstein Jr. On March 9, 1939, Frazin committed suicide by jumping out of a window of an apartment in New York City. She was 38. Carlton Chase (actor)
Carlton Chase (February 20, 1794 – January 18, 1870) was the first Bishop of the Diocese of New Hampshire in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. Early life Chase was born in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, the son of Captain Charles Chase and Sarah (Currier) Chase. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1817. He was ordained deacon in 1818 and ordained priest in 1820 by Alexander Viets Griswold. After his ordination, Chase moved to Bellows Falls, Vermont and became the rector of Immanuel Church. Not long after arriving in Bellows Falls, Chase married an inhabitant of that town, Harriet Cutler. They would go on to have eight children. He remained at Immanuel until his consecration as bishop in 1844, receiving a doctor of divinity during his time there from the University of Vermont.
