"Space and the Woods" is a song released by United Kingdom, UK band Late of the Pier on 5 March 2007. It was released on 500 limited edition 7" records. The single and b-side are different recordings to those that appeared on the Zarcorp Demo. Notably, "Heartbeat (Late of the Pier song), Heartbeat, Flicker, Line" was given a definite name, previously known to fans as "7Beat" or "Heartbeat". The b-side was later re-recorded and became the lead single for their debut album, Fantasy Black Channel. The song was remixed by Brighton-based DJ, South Central, and released on a limited edition white label 12". It was re-recorded and re-released on 19 May 2008 as a double A-side with "Focker (song), Focker", on 12", 7" and download. The song is currently being used by Sony in their promotional videos for the PSP Go. It was covered by Marina and the Diamonds as a B-side to her 2009 single "Mowgli's Road". Late of the Pier was an English four-piece dance-punk band from Castle Donington, England, signed to Parlophone. Their debut album ''Fantasy Black Channel'', produced by Erol Alkan was released on 11 August 2008 by Parlophone. History Formation, ''Zarcorp Demo'' and ''Fantasy Black Channel'' (2004–10) The band formed in 2004, although some of the songs they perform were written before this, with some dating back to 2001. Their debut single, "Space and the Woods", was released through WayOutWest Records, and featured on the band's ''Zarcorp Demo'' EP in March 2007. Metronomy are an English electronic music group formed in 1999. As of 2021, the band consists of Joseph Mount (vocals, keyboards and guitar), Oscar Cash (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar and saxophone), Anna Prior (drums and vocals), Olugbenga Adelekan (bass guitar and vocals) and Michael Lovett (keyboards and guitars). Erol Alkan (born 30 May 1974) is an English DJ and producer of Turkish Cypriot descent. He grew up in Archway in North London. Career DJ and club promoter In 1993, Erol Alkan started DJing in various indie nightclubs in London. His first ever public DJ set was at The Gass Club in Leicester Square. "Mowgli's Road" is a song by Welsh singer Marina and the Diamonds from her debut studio album, '' The Family Jewels'' (2010). The song's demo was released as a double A-side single with "Obsessions", on 16 February 2009 by Neon Gold Records.
