Space Training And Readiness Delta (Provisional)
The Space Training and Readiness Delta (Provisional) (STAR Delta (P)) was a United States Space Force unit responsible for the training and education of space professionals, as well as the development of space warfighting doctrine. It was a component of Space Operations Command and was headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. STAR Delta (P) was activated on 24 July 2020 to serve as the precursor organization to the planned Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM). Announced on 30 June 2020 as one of three field commands of the U.S. Space Force, STARCOM was set to be activated in 2021. In the interim, the delta was activated to provide oversight of Space Force education, training, and operational test and evaluation units. It was then inactivated on 23 August 2021 prior to the activation of STARCOM. Space Test And Training Range
The Space Test and Training Range (STTR) is a space electronic warfare range controlled by the United States Space Force and is located at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. The 25th Space Range Squadron and their reserve associate unit, the 379th Space Range Squadron operate and maintain the STTR. Mission The mission of the STTR is mainly operated out of the Space Range Operations Center (SROC) but the space range is also world-wide deployable. Currently, L3Harris is responsible for sustainment of the SROC. The 17th Test and Evaluation Squadron is a United States Space Force test and evaluation unit, located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. The squadron is tasked with testing and evaluating space systems and associated support equipment. History On 6 April 1990, at Peterson Air Force Base Colorado the 1017th Test and Evaluation Squadron was activated. The mission of the 1017th was to perform Air Staff-directed initial and follow-on operational test and evaluation of Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) space surveillance, missile warning, and command and control systems.
