Space Squad
is a set of two V-Cinema movies, first released in Japanese theaters on June 17, 2017 while DVD and Blu-Ray releases were made on separate dates. It features the crossover between 2012 Metal Hero Series movie '' Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie'' and the twenty-eighth Super Sentai Series entry ''Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger'', both works are distributed by Toei Company. In addition, past actors from Metal Hero Series are also set to appear as guests in the films. Both films were directed by Koichi Sakamoto and written by Naruhisa Arakawa, who previously worked in ''Space Sheriffs: Next Generation''. Another work from ''Space Sheriff Gavan'' was planned since 2015, but production was moved to 2016 due to Sakamoto's scheduling conflicts. Koichi Sakamoto
is a Japanese-born stunt actor, and producer for films and television. He is best known for his work as executive producer, as well as fight coordinator and frequent director, for the long running ''Power Rangers'' franchise. Biography Early career Sakamoto graduated from Adachi ward Higashiayase junior high and high school, and went on to graduate from Matsudo Senshu University. A fan of Jackie Chan and Super Sentai, Sakamoto worked to become a stunt performer for Blue Mask on ''Hikari Sentai Maskman'' at live stunt shows, performing at Kōrakuen Stadium and Tokyo Dome. He came to the United States in 1989 as a foreign student to learn English and became a stunt actor. His first major stunt role was in 1994 with '' Guyver: Dark Hero'' as "Sakai." Space Sheriff Gavan
, also known as ''Space Cop Gabin'' and ''Space Cop Gaban'', is a Japanese Tokusatsu series produced by Toei Company that aired on TV Asahi from March 5, 1982 to February 25, 1983. is the twenty-eighth production of the ''Super Sentai'' metaseries produced by Toei Company, Toei. It aired as a part of TV Asahi's 2004 Super Hero Time block with ''Kamen Rider Blade''.
