The Soviet Class A Second Group (russian: Чемпионат СССР по футболу (Класс А. The league was formed in 1963 by splitting away from the Class A and forcing the Class B of the Soviet football championship to downgrade to the third tier. In 1970 the Soviet Class A was expanded even further adding additional tier to the top and downgrading the Soviet Class A Second Group to the third tier. SKA Lviv was a Soviet multi-sports club founded in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR. The club was created as part of sport section of the Carpathian Military District in 1949 and existed until 1989. FC Kuban (russian: link=no, Футбольный клуб "Кубань" Краснодар) was a Russian football club based in Krasnodar. The team began playing in the Russian Premier League in 2011, after it was promoted for winning the Russian First Division. FC Kuban was one of the oldest football clubs in Russia. Founded as Dynamo of the Krasnodar NKVD, FC Kuban changed its affiliations because of changing politics in the USSR. Football Club Metalist Kharkiv ( uk, Футбо́льний Клуб Металі́ст Ха́рків ) is a Ukrainian football club based in Kharkiv that plays in the Ukrainian First League during the 2021–22 season. It was revived 5 years after the original FC Metalist Kharkiv ceased operations. Founded in 1925, FC Metalist Kharkiv had worked its way up the rungs of the Soviet football system, eventually being promoted to the Soviet Top League in 1960. After a difficult period which included relegation, Metalist was promoted to the Top League again in 1982, where it remained until the league's dissolution. Football Club Kairat ( kk, Qaırat Fýtbol Klýby) is a professional football club based in Almaty, which plays in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football.
