Garces Memorial High School
Garces Memorial High School, commonly shortened to Garces High School, is a Catholic high school in Bakersfield, California. The school offers college prep, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in many subjects. As a Catholic institution, the high school requires theology classes for all four years. Electives include art, yearbook, intro to broadcasting and many others to choose from. Garces has one of the most successful sports programs in the history of the CIF-Central Section. The Garces sports teams, nicknamed the "Rams," compete in CIF Central Section. Most of the teams are placed in either Division 1 or Division 2. However, some of the sport teams are placed in lower divisions for playoffs. The school has won 120 valley championships, ranking it fourth all-time in the Central Section. Centennial High School is a public high school located in Bakersfield, California, United States. The school's opening in 1993 marked the 100-year anniversary of the Kern High School District. Centennial is the home of many nationally recognized extra-curricular academic programs, including Virtual Business and We The People, both of which have finished ranked in the top five nationally in the school's history. Frontier High School (FHS) is a public American high school in Bakersfield, California. The school is part of the Kern High School District since its opening in 2006. Its campus is located on the corner of Allen Road and Olive Drive in Northwest Bakersfield. History Frontier High School was founded prior to the 2006-2007 academic year, opening its doors only to incoming freshmen and sophomores. The first day of class was held August 21, 2006. Frontier's first graduating class was the Class of 2009. The school's newspaper publication, entitled the Titan Tribune, posted stories and events online until 2011.
