Southwark College
Southwark College is a further education college located in the London Borough of Southwark. The college at one time had seven sites; it is now based at a building on The Cut, opposite Southwark tube station. The college has been part of Newcastle College Group since 2017. Courses The college offers GCSE, ESOL, Access, City & Guilds and BTEC courses in many subjects. It also offers higher education courses including an MBA. History The college was formed in the early 1990s by a merger between a sixth form college, a further education college, and the local adult education centre. Its main site for a long time was a purpose-built 1960s centre near London Waterloo station. In 2006 the college had a total of 10,093 students enrolled. 2515 of the total students enrolled at the college were on a full-time program and 7578 students were enrolled onto a part-time program. Lewisham College
Lewisham College is a further education college in the London Borough of Lewisham, south-east London. It was established in 1990, having previously been known as SELTEC (South East London College of Technology) since the early 1970s, which was run by the Inner London Education Authority. The college has two campuses, its main one on Lewisham Way in Brockley, and another one in Church Street, Deptford. History The Deptford campus of the college opened in 1996. Sue Black (computer Scientist)
Susan Elizabeth Black (born 1962) is a British computer scientist, academic and social entrepreneur. She is known for saving Bletchley Park, (World War II codebreaking) with her ''Saving Bletchley Park'' campaign. Since 2018, she has been Professor of Computer Science and Technology Evangelist at Durham University. She was previously based at the University of Westminster and University College London. Nick Petford (born 27 May 1961, London, England) is a British academic and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Northampton. Ozwald Boateng, OBE () (born 28 February 1967) is a British fashion designer, best known for his trademark twist on classic tailoring and bespoke styles. Early life Boateng was born in the Muswell Hill district of London on 28 February 1967, the son of Ghanaian immigrants. He was inspired by the immaculate suits his father wore, and received his first suit (a double-breasted outfit in purple mohair) from his mother at the age of eight. Clive Efford
Clive Stanley Efford (born 10 July 1958) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Eltham since 1997. Early life Efford was born in London and educated at Walworth School and Southwark College. He worked in his family jewellery business, until he completed The Knowledge and qualified as London taxi driver in 1987. In 1986, he became an elected councillor in the London Borough of Greenwich, and continued in both these occupations until being elected to Parliament in 1997. Political career Efford was first elected to Greenwich Council in 1986 for the Eltham Well Hall Ward, becoming the Labour Group Chief Whip in 1990.
