''Southern Girl City Lights'' is the sixth release overall and second studio album by American country music artist Jessie James Decker. It is Decker's first full-length album since her self-titled debut album in 2009. It was released on October 13, 2017 through Epic Records. Content Decker described ''Southern Girl City Lights'' to ''People'' as a "full-circle" project that bridges that gap between the pop music influences of her debut and the country pop sound she has developed on previous releases, with songs that represent the "tremendous" changes in her life since her last full-length release. The album contains a collaboration with country artist Randy Houser, who also co-wrote the single "My Cowboy" from Decker's debut album, which song she credits with helping her land her first record deal. Jessica Rose James Decker (born April 12, 1988) is an American country pop singer. At age 15, after auditioning for and being rejected by most of the country labels in Nashville, Tennessee, Decker began working with Carla Wallace of Big Yellow Dog Music. One of her songs attracted the attention of Mercury Records, which offered her a recording contract. She released her debut album, ''Jessie James'', in 2009. A few years later in 2013, she starred with her husband Eric Decker, a wide receiver in the National Football League, in the E! reality show '' Eric & Jessie: Game On''. Angelo Petraglia
Angelo Petraglia (born May 5, 1954) is an American record producer and songwriter. He was a member of the new wave band Face to Face and is best known for his work with Kings of Leon. Early life He was born in the Bronx and grew up in Pelham, New York. His father was a janitor and his mother was a bookkeeper. By the time he’d reached the third grade, he was playing guitar, inspired by Ricky Nelson’s brief promotional appearances at the end of Ozzie and Harriet. Sarah Jane Buxton (born July 3, 1980) is an American country music singer, formerly signed to the independent Lyric Street Records. Album-equivalent Unit
The album-equivalent unit, or album equivalent, is a measurement unit in music industry to define the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. This consumption includes streaming and song downloads in addition to traditional album sales. The album-equivalent unit was introduced in the mid- 2010s as an answer to the drop of album sales in the 21st century. Album sales more than halved from 1999 to 2009, declining from a $14.6 to $6.3 billion industry. For instance, the only albums that went platinum in the United States in 2014 were the '' Frozen'' soundtrack and Taylor Swift's ''1989'', whereas several artists' works had in 2013. The ''Billboard'' 200 is a record chart ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States.
