Southeastern Armed Forces Museum Military Zone 7
The Southeastern Armed Forces Museum Military Zone 7 is a military museum located at 247 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It covers all Vietnamese resistance to foreign occupation from the Chinese occupation, the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War and the Cambodian–Vietnamese War. The Museum's opening hours are from 07:30 to 11:30 and from 13:00 to 16:30 daily except Monday. Admission is free for Vietnamese and 40,000 VND for non-Vietnamese, plus VND 10,000 to take photos. History The museum was established on 5 February 1988 on the site of the former U.S. 3rd Field Hospital and is diagonally opposite the former ARVN Joint General Staff compound, now the headquarters of 7th Military Region (Vietnam People's Army). M41 Walker Bulldog
The M41 Walker Bulldog, officially 76-mm Gun Tank, M41, was an American light tank developed for armed reconnaissance purposes. It was produced by Cadillac between 1951 and 1954 and marketed successfully to the United States Army as a replacement for its aging fleet of World War II vintage M24 Chaffee tanks. Although engineered as a reconnaissance vehicle, the M41's weight and armament also made it effective in the close infantry support role and for rapid airborne deployments. Upon entering US service, all M41s received the designation ''Little Bulldog'' and subsequently, ''Walker Bulldog'' after the late General Walton Walker, who was killed in a Jeep accident in 1950. The War Remnants Museum ( vi, Bảo tàng chứng tích chiến tranh) is a war museum at 28 Vo Van Tan, in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. It contains exhibits relating to the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War. History Operated by the Ho Chi Minh City government, an earlier version of this museum opened on September 4, 1975, as the Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes ( vi, Nhà trưng bày tội ác Mỹ-ngụy). Vietnam People's Air Force Museum, Ho Chi Minh City
The Vietnam People's Air Force Museum, Saigon or ''Bảo Tàng Phòng Không - Không Quân'' is located on ''Duong Thang Long'' (Thang Long Street) in the ''Phuong'' 4 District of Ho Chi Minh City. The museum is near to Tan Son Nhat International Airport and adjacent to the gate to Tan Son Nhut Air Base. The museum tells the history of the Vietnam People's Air Force (VPAF) in the Second Indochina War and the Cambodian-Vietnamese War. The museum comprises one main building with a small display of uniforms and flightsuits, aircraft weaponry and engines. Embassy Of The United States, Saigon
The United States Embassy in Saigon was first established in June 1952, and moved into a new building in 1967 and eventually closed in 1975. The embassy was the scene of a number of significant events of the Vietnam War, most notably the Viet Cong attack during the Tet Offensive which helped turn American public opinion against the war, and the helicopter evacuation during the Fall of Saigon after which the embassy closed permanently. In 1995, the U.S. and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam formally established relations and the embassy grounds and building were handed back to the United States. The T-54 and T-55 tanks are a series of Soviet main battle tanks introduced in the years following the World War II, Second World War. M114 155 Mm Howitzer
The M114 is a towed howitzer developed and used by the United States Army. It was first produced in 1942 as a medium artillery piece under the designation of 155 mm Howitzer M1. It saw service with the US Army during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, before being replaced by the M198 howitzer. The gun was also used by the armed forces of many nations. The M114A1 remains in service in some countries.
