The Southern and Eastern Serbia ( sr, Јужна и источна Србија, Južna i istočna Srbija) is one of five statistical regions of Serbia. It is also a level-2 statistical region according to the European NUTS. It was formed in 2010. As of 2022 census, the region has a total of 1,528,611 inhabitants. Formation In July 2009, the Serbian parliament adopted a law which divided Serbia into seven statistical regions. Southern Thailand, Southern Siam or Tambralinga is a southernmost cultural region of Thailand, separated from Central Thailand region by the Kra Isthmus. Geography Southern Thailand is on the Malay Peninsula, with an area of around , bounded to the north by Kra Isthmus, the narrowest part of the peninsula. The Southern Region was a region of British Railways from 1948 until 1992 when railways were re-privatised. The region ceased to be an operating unit in its own right in the 1980s. The region covered south London, southern England and the south coast, including the busy commuter belt areas of Kent, Sussex and Surrey. The region was largely based upon the former Southern Railway area. Southern Region (Boy Scouts Of America)
For administrative purposes, the Boy Scouts of America was divided into four regions—Western, Central, Southern, and Northeast. Each region was subdivided into areas. Southern Region covered all of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee, and parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Each region had a volunteer president, assisted by volunteer officers and board members, and the day-to-day work of Scouting was managed by the regional director, assistant and associate regional directors, and area directors. The Southern Region has been a region in Ireland since 1 January 2015. It is a NUTS Level II statistical region of Ireland (coded IE05). NUTS 2 Regions may be classified as ''less developed regions'', ''transition regions'', or ''more developed regions'' to determine eligibility for funding under the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund Plus.
