South Quay Plaza
South Quay Plaza is a residential-led development under construction in Canary Wharf on the Isle of Dogs, London, within the borough of Tower Hamlets, developed by Berkeley Group Holdings and designed by architect Foster + Partners. The site of the development lies to the immediate north of Marsh Wall and to the immediate south of the financial district Canary Wharf. The entire development is scheduled for completion in 2028. The development includes three towers, of which the tallest, Hampton Tower, will reach a height of 214.5 m (704 ft); making it the second-tallest residential skyscraper currently proposed for London. There will also be new public and retail space, cafés and restaurants as part of the scheme. Tower Hamlets London Borough Council is the local authority for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in Greater London, England. The council is unusual in that its executive function is controlled by a directly elected mayor of Tower Hamlets, currently Lutfur Rahman. Millwall
Millwall is a district on the western and southern side of the Isle of Dogs, in east London, England, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It lies to the immediate south of Canary Wharf and Limehouse, north of Greenwich and Deptford, east of Rotherhithe, west of Cubitt Town, and has a long shoreline along London's Tideway, part of the River Thames. South Quay DLR Station
South Quay is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station on the Isle of Dogs, East London, England. The station is between Crossharbour and Heron Quays stations and is in Travelcard Zone 2. South Quay is in Millwall and is located on the southern shore of the South Dock of the West India Docks; the current station platforms sit astride the channel connecting Millwall Dock to the West India Docks. History The original South Quay station opened in 1987 in Millwall and was a standard DLR phase 1 elevated station, subsequently extended to permit the use of 2 unit trains. In 1996, near the station, the Docklands bombing killed 2 people and injured over 30. The IRA had claimed responsibility for it.
