South Lakes High School
South Lakes High School is a public high school in Reston, Virginia, United States. The school serves grades 9-12 for the Fairfax County Public Schools. History South Lakes High School opened in 1978 with grades 7-10. Students in the first 10th-grade class had attended either Herndon or Oakton High Schools for grade 9. In the 1979-80 school year, the school had grades 7-11. Langston Hughes Intermediate School was supposed to open in the fall of 1980, but there were construction delays. As a result, for the first quarter of the 1980-1981 school year, South Lakes had a split shift so intermediate school (grades 7-8) students attended in the morning and high school (grades 9-12) students attended in the afternoon. Langston Hughes opened in time for 2nd quarter. South Lakes' first graduating class was the class of 1981 (who attended the school for three years). Alan Webb (born January 13, 1983, in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is an American former track and field athlete and former triathlete. He holds the American national record in the mile, with a time of 3 minutes 46.91 seconds. Webb represented the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the men's 1500-meters race. Eddie Timanus
Eddie Timanus (born 1968) is a ''USA Today'' sportswriter and game show contestant who grew up in Reston, Virginia, then graduated from Wake Forest University. Timanus has been blind since he was a toddler due to retinoblastoma. He is best known for his five-game winning streak on the game show ''Jeopardy!'' and for being the first blind contestant to appear on the show. Wes Suter
Wes Suter is a retired American gymnast who competed in the 1988 Olympics. Suter was a highly decorated high school gymnast in Virginia in the early 80s. Describing Suter's intensity, his coach Bob Grauman remarked: I have never in all of my years of coaching, and I coached for 32 years, have never met an individual with fire in the belly to perform at a high level. Whether it was practice, warm-ups or a meet, he had that killer instinct and wanted to win. Suter went on to compete at the University of Nebraska, where he was part of the 1983 National Champion team. In 1985, he was the NCAA all-around champion and also won gold on high bar and floor. New Jersey's 11th congressional district is a suburban district in northern New Jersey. The district includes portions of Essex, Morris, and Passaic Counties; it is centered in Morris County. The 11th congressional district, along with the 12th, was created in 1913 based on the results of the 1910 census, and was centered in Essex County.
