South Indian Cultural Association or SICA is a non profit organization for carnatic music and dance. It is located in Hyderabad, India. The main function of the organisation is to organise cultural events mainly at Ravindra Bharathi. Renowned Classical music and dance artists perform for SICA during their festival in February and March. History SICA was established in 1959. SICA is celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2009 and the year-long celebrations are concluding at the ''Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad'' on 16 August 2009. Kartik Seshadri
Kartik Seshadri (born 1957) is an Indian sitar player and teacher of Indian classical music. He is the director of the Indian Classical Music Ensemble at the University of California, San Diego. Career Seshadri was born in Madras, India in 1957. At age 6 he began playing the sitar. When he was 18 he began studying with sitarist Pandit Ravi Shankar, and later toured and performed with his guru. In 2005 and 2010, Seshadri collaborated with prominent composer Philip Glass on the critically acclaimed Orion project. Shashank Subramanyam (born 14 October 1978) is a flutist from India and specializes in Indian classical music. The Govt. of France awarded the prestigious Knighthood / title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He is also the youngest recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi's senior award by Govt. of India bestowed by the Hon. President of India for the year 2017 at an investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi. Pantula Rama is an Indian singer, instrumentalist, and author who performs Carnatic music. She has been performing since the age of 8. Composing music in intricate rhythms is considered her specialty. Known as ''Andhra's Nightingale'' and ''Golden Voice'', Pantula Rama lives in Vishakhapatnam and is married to violinist MSN Murthy.
