South Hall, River Falls State Normal School
South Hall is located on the campus of what is now the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. History South Hall was built in 1898 after a fire had destroyed the previous building that housed the school a year earlier. The building was designed by Oshkosh architect William Waters. At the time, as the sole building on campus, it was simply known as the "Normal School". It became known by its current name after the construction of North Hall in 1914. River Falls is a city in Pierce County, Wisconsin, Pierce and St. Croix County, Wisconsin, St. Croix counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is adjacent to the River Falls (town), Wisconsin, Town of River Falls in Pierce County and the Kinnickinnic, Wisconsin, Town of Kinnickinnic in St. Croix County. River Falls is the most populous city in Pierce County. The population was 16,182 at th2020 census with 11,851 residing in Pierce County and 3,149 in St. Croix County. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and located approximately east of the center of that region. River Falls is the home of the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. North Hall-River Falls State Normal School
North Hall is located on the campus of what is now the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. History North Hall was built after the Wisconsin Legislature appropriated $124,000 to construct a new building for the school. Enrollment had been growing, making the existing space overcrowded. It was added onto in 1927 and began housing a four-year course for training teachers and became the State Teachers College. The University of Wisconsin–River Falls (UW–River Falls or UWRF) is a public university in River Falls, Wisconsin. It is part of the University of Wisconsin System. The campus is situated on the Kinnickinnic River (St. Croix River), Kinnickinnic River in the St. Croix River (Wisconsin–Minnesota), St. Croix River Valley.
