South Brisbane Football Club was an Australian rules club which competed in the Queensland Football League. Queensland Football League
The Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) is an Australian rules football competition organised by the AFL Queensland, contested by clubs from South East Queensland. Previously known as the Queensland Football League (QFL), Queensland Australian National Football League (QANFL), Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) and AFL Queensland State League (AFLQSL), the QAFL is the premier semi-professional competition in Queensland. Since its inception, more than fifty teams have played in the premiership competition. The premier division currently features 12 teams from as far north from Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, throughout the Brisbane Metropolitan Area and as far south as Palm Beach on the Gold Coast near the New South Wales border. Brian O'Connor (cricketer)
Brian Redmond Devereaux O'Connor (5 July 1913 – 17 December 1963) was an Australian first-class cricketer who played Sheffield Shield cricket for Queensland. Biography O'Connor, a right-arm fast-medium opening bowler and lower order batsman, made four of his five first-class matches in the 1934/35 Sheffield Shield season. He struggled on his debut, against South Australia at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, going wicket-less in the first innings and conceding 80 runs off just 13 overs. In the second innings he dismissed opener Vic Richardson and then helped Queensland win the match by scoring 11 not out from nine in the batting order, securing a narrow three wicket victory. His next appearance was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against Victoria and he was more successful with the ball, claiming 2/72, with the wickets of Leo O'Brien and Len Darling. Harry Pegg
Harry R. E. Pegg (19 March 1916 – 17 October 2010) was an Australian sportsman who represented Queensland in both Australian rules football and first-class cricket. An interstate football representative, Pegg was one of the leading player in the Queensland Australian National Football League (QANFL) in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He was made captain of South Brisbane in 1939 and two years later crossed to Windsor. Pegg was 29 when made his first-class cricket debut for Queensland, against the Don Bradman captained South Australian team at Adelaide Oval in 1945/46. Although he was a wicket-keeper in grade cricket, Pegg was picked as a specialist batsman. He was only required to bat once but failed to score, falling leg before wicket to Tom Klose. Donald Watt (cricketer)
Donald Watt (15 March 1920 – 20 May 2007) was an Australian first-class cricketer who played for Queensland. He also represented his state in Australian rules football and rugby union. A middle order batsman and leg spin bowler, Watt made his first appearances in first-class cricket in the 1939/40 Sheffield Shield season. In five matches he struggled with the ball and could only take one wicket at an average of 278 but scored two half centuries. The competition was then suspended due to the war so Watt never got a chance to improve his Shield record. Up until 1945/46, Watt continued to play for Queensland at first-class level and was easily most successful with the ball against New South Wales. He never took a wicket against South Australia, despite conceding 200 runs and only took three wickets at 80.33 in matches against Victoria.
