South African Cricket Team In New Zealand In 1994–95
The South African national cricket team toured New Zealand in February and March 1995 and played a single Test match against the hosts to celebrate the centenary of the New Zealand Cricket Council, as well as a pair of tour games. The tour was the South African team's first to New Zealand since 1964, and their seventh overseas tour since their readmission to the International Cricket Council in 1991. South Africa won the single Test match by 93 runs. Ken Rutherford (cricketer)
Kenneth Robert Rutherford (born 26 October 1965) is a former New Zealand cricketer who enjoyed a ten-year career with the national team, and was captain for a period in the 1990s. He is the 50th ODI cap for New Zealand. Family Rutherford's elder brother Ian Rutherford also played first-class cricket as a batsman for Otago from 1974–75 to 1983–84. The brothers played in the same Otago team in 1982–83 and 1983–84. Rutherford's eldest son Hamish Rutherford made his Test debut for New Zealand against England in March 2013, scoring 171. Steven Douglas Jack (born 4 August 1970) is a former South African cricketer who played in two Test matches and two One Day Internationals. He was a fast, aggressive bowler and formed a formidable opening partnership with Richard Snell for Transvaal in the early 1990s, as they tried to recapture the glory of the 'Mean Machine' years. Philippus Jeremia Rudolf Steyn (born 30 June 1967) is a former South African cricketer. He played in three Test matches and one One Day International in 1995. Gary Kirsten (born 23 November 1967) is a South African cricket coach and former cricketer. He has coached the Indian Cricket Team as well as the South African Cricket team. Kirsten played 101 Test matches and 185 One Day Internationals for South Africa between 1993 and 2004, mainly as an opening batsman. His half brother Peter also played provincial cricket for Western Province, and then later for the South Africa cricket team which included the highlight of the 1992 Cricket World Cup. Shane Thomson
Shane Alexander Thomson (born 27 January 1969) is a former New Zealand international cricketer. He played as a genuine all-rounder, making 19 Test and 56 One Day International appearances for New Zealand. Thomson was born in Hamilton, Waikato in 1969. Thomson made his test debut against India in 1990 scoring 42 runs not out in the second innings. He had to wait for another year to play test cricket again, this time against Sri Lanka.
