South Africa A Cricket Team
The South Africa A cricket team is a national cricket team representing South Africa. It is the second-tier of international South African cricket, below the full South Africa national cricket team. Matches played by South Africa A are not Test matches or One Day Internationals, instead receiving first-class and List A classification respectively. Zubayr Hamza is the current captain of the side. Kyle John Abbott (born 18 June 1987) is a South African cricketer. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who represented South Africa in Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket between 2013 and 2017, before retiring to take up a contract with Hampshire in English county cricket. He previously played in South African domestic cricket for the Dolphins. In September 2019, Abbott took match figures of 17–86 in Hampshire's match against Somerset in the 2019 County Championship. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Roelof Erasmus van der Merwe (born 31 December 1984) is a Dutch-South African professional cricketer who has played internationally for both South Africa and the Netherlands, one of the few players to represent more than one international team. Mohammad Yaseen Vallie, or otherwise known as Yaseen Vallie (born 30 July 1989) is a South African cricketer who plays for the Warriors. Career Vallie was selected to play for South Africa in the 2008 U-19 Cricket World Cup as an all-rounder. Juan "Rusty" Theron (born 24 July 1985) is a South African-American professional cricketer. He played for the Warriors cricket team in South African domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and for the South Africa national team. Rilee Roscoe Rossouw (born 9 October 1989) is a South African cricketer who played for South Africa between 2014 and 2016, before making a return to international cricket in July 2022. Dane Leeroy Piedt (born 6 March 1990) is a South African former cricketer. He played for the Cape Cobras. He made his Test cricket debut for South Africa against Zimbabwe in August 2014. Richard Ernst Levi (born 14 January 1988) is an English-South African cricketer. He played in the 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka.
