South (Chamber Of Deputies Of Luxembourg Constituency)
South ( lb, Süden; french: Sud; german: Süden) is one of the four multi-member constituencies of the Chamber of Deputies, the national legislature of Luxembourg. The constituency was established in 1919 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Chamber of Deputies. It consists of the cantons of Capellen and Esch-sur-Alzette. The constituency currently elects 23 of the 60 members of the Chamber of Deputies using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2018 general election it had 103,083 registered electors. Constituencies ( lb, Walbezierk; french: Circonscription électorale; german: Wahlkreis) are used to elect representatives ('deputies') to Luxembourg's unicameral national legislature, the Chamber of Deputies. Electoral law in Luxembourg is dictated by Articles 51, 52, and 53 of the Constitution. The number of deputies is set at sixty, and boundaries of the constituencies are based on administrative cantonal boundaries. As a result, the constituencies have greatly differing populations, so each elects a different number of deputies, dependent upon the share of the national population. Josée Lorsché (born 9 September 1961) is a Luxembourgers, Luxembourgish politician and a member of The Greens (Luxembourg), the Greens. Fred Keup (born 15 May 1980 in Luxembourg (city), Luxembourg City) is a Luxembourg, Luxembourgish politician ( Alternative Democratic Reform Party, ADR ) and a member of parliament at the Chamber of Deputies (Luxembourg) (from October 14, 2020). Alternative Democratic Reform Party
The Alternative Democratic Reform Party (ADR; lb, Alternativ Demokratesch Reformpartei, french: Parti réformiste d'alternative démocratique, german: Alternative Demokratische Reformpartei) is a conservative and mildly populist political party in Luxembourg.
