South-Eastern Finland (electoral District)
The Southeast Finland constituency (Finnish: ''Kaakkois-Suomen vaalipiiri'', Swedish: ''Sydöstra Finlands valkrets'') is a Finnish constituency represented in the Parliament of Finland. It covers the regions of South Karelia, Southern Savonia and Kymi Valley. The South-Eastern district currently elects 17 members to the parliament. The district was formed in 2013 by merging the electoral districts of Southern Savonia and Kymi into one. Constituencies Of Finland
There are thirteen constituencies in Finland, nowadays called electoral districts by the Finnish Parliament. (The English word "constituency" is confusing due to its various meanings.) The citizens of each electoral district elect from 6 to 35 MPs (members of parliament), depending on the population of the district, but 05 Åland only elects one. The boundaries of the electoral districts are based on the province division in use from 1634 to 1997 and has remained basically the same since the first parliamentary election in 1907. In 1939, the constituency of Northern Oulu was divided between the constituencies of Lapland and Oulu. The constituency of Southern Oulu was renamed to Oulu in the process. After the Continuation War, the electoral districts of Eastern and Western Viipuri, which lost much of their territories to the Soviet Union, were united to the new constituency of Kymi. The Centre Party ( fi, Suomen Keskusta , ''Kesk''; sv, Centern i Finland), officially the Centre Party of Finland, is an agrarian political party in Finland. Ideologically, the Centre Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum. It has been described as liberal, social liberal, liberal-conservative, and conservative-liberal. Kaj Valentin Turunen (born 27 December 1960 in Lohja) is a Finnish politician. Turunen was elected to the Finnish Parliament in the 2011 election as a The Finns Party candidate from the electoral district of Southern Savonia with 2,631 votes. Lenita Anneli Toivakka (born 28 September 1961 in Helsinki) is a Finnish politician and a member of National Coalition Party. Kimmo Kalevi Tiilikainen (born 17 August 1966, Ruokolahti) is a Finnish politician from the Centre Party. He is an organic farmer and forester.
