Soulection is a Los Angeles-based music collective that serves as a platform and community for artists, musicians, and fans from across the world. DJ Joe Kay and artists Guillame '96' Bonte and Andre Power collaborated to establish the brand in 2011. Today, Soulection exists as an Apple Music 1 radio show on Beats1 Radio, an independent music label, festival, world-touring concert and clothing line. The brand defines itself as uniting a "borderless, genre-bending musical movement". Founders Joe Kay Joe Kay is a Southern California native. He is a co-founder and current CEO and Head of Artists and Repertoire of Soulection. Kay started a musical compilation podcast out of his grandmother's basement known as "Illvibes" in the summer of 2007. Joe Kay transferred to California State University, Long Beach in 2011. Monte Booker
Ahmanti Booker (born March 27, 1995), professionally known as Monte Booker is an American producer from Chicago, Illinois. He is part of the musical collective Zero Fatigue, and has worked with artists such as Smino, Ravyn Lenae, Noname, Saba, Mick Jenkins, Sango, Ari Lennox and JID, among others. Career Monte Booker grew up in the South Side of Chicago listening to artists such as Outkast, Gucci Mane, Radiohead and Coldplay. He started producing in 2011 with FL Studio incorporating trap music and jazz as well as organic sounds in his music. In 2013, he met St. Louis artists Smino, Jay2 and Bari through studio manager Chris Classick, and joined the collective Zero Fatigue, along with Ravyn Lenae. Kai Asa Savon Wright (born October 1, 1991), known by his stage name Sango, is an American DJ and record producer from Seattle, Washington. Personal life Sango was born October 1, 1991, in Bremerton, Washington. His parents were both musicians. He relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan at age nine. In 2015, he graduated from Western Michigan University with a BFA in graphic design. Shortly after graduating, he relocated to Seattle. His professional name comes from the lead female character in the anime/manga Inuyasha. In 2015, Wright married Angela Lopez-Wright. Daily Paper is an Amsterdam-based menswear and womenswear fashion brand established in 2012. Inspired by the African heritage of its founders, together with the passion for contemporary fashion, Daily Paper is known for its ready-to-wear garments and accessories.
