Soul-Crusher
''Soul-Crusher'' is the debut studio album of White Zombie, released independently in November 1987 by Silent Explosion. It was the band's second and final release with Tom "Five" Guay on guitar. Building off the sound established on ''Psycho-Head Blowout'', the band matured its sound while placing further emphasis on the individual roles of its players. The album caught the attention of major labels and in 1988 was adopted and re-issued by Caroline Records. Despite its initially limited release and the band's relatively unknown status, the album gained the admiration of musicians such as Kurt Cobain, Iggy Pop,Yseult, Sean. "Soul-Crusher". ''Let Sleeping Corpses Lie'' is a career-spanning five-disc box set of the band White Zombie. It is named after the 1974 Italian horror film of the same name. Contents The set contains a remaster of every album and E.P. released officially by White Zombie from 1985 to 1996, including six non-album songs, on four discs. However, not every song the band recorded can be found here: notably absent are "Black Friday" and "Dead or Alive", the two songs added to the 1989 cassette re-release of ''Gods on Voodoo Moon''. White Zombie (band)
White Zombie was an American heavy metal music, heavy metal band that formed in 1985. Based in New York City, they started out as a noise rock band, releasing three EPs and one studio album in that style before changing to a heavy metal-oriented sound that broke them to the mainstream. The albums ''La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One'' (1992) and ''Astro-Creep: 2000'' (1995) established them as an influential act in groove metal and industrial metal, respectively. ''Make Them Die Slowly'' is the second studio album by White Zombie, released on March 22, 1989, by Caroline Records. It is named after the 1981 horror film ''Cannibal Ferox'', which was originally released in the US as ''Make Them Die Slowly''. There is a printing error on the CD's side saying "Let Them Die Slowly" instead of the album's correct title. Produced by composer Bill Laswell and featuring John Ricci on guitar, the album represented a transition from the noise rock influenced sound of White Zombie's previous releases to heavy metal, which informed much of their later work. ''Psycho-Head Blowout'' is the third EP by White Zombie, released in May 1987 by Silent Explosion. The album was recorded with producer and composer Kramer and was the band's first to feature guitarist Tom Guay, who had a pivotal influence on the band's sound. It was also the debut release of the band's short-lived label Silent Explosion. The record was the band's first release to receive critical notice and garnered them notice in underground circles. Recording The music that comprises ''Psycho-Head Blowout'' was recorded by producer and composer Kramer at his studio Noise New York. __notoc__ Thomas Neil Guay (born October 11, 1965), more commonly known by his stage name Tom Five (or Tom 5), is an American guitar player who joined White Zombiehttp://metalstorm.ee/bands/bandmember.php?member_id=14097 Metal Storm while studying art at Parsons School of Design which he attended from 1985 to 1989. Guay is more widely known as Tom Five, reportedly because his style "sounded like five guitarists playing at once". He played guitar for the metal band Angel Rot from 1988 to 2003, releasing the album ''Unlistenable Hymns of Indulgent Damage'' in 1999. Caroline Records is a record label originally founded in 1973. Initially founded in the United Kingdom to showcase British progressive rock groups, the label ceased releasing titles in 1976, and then re-emerged in the United States in 1986. The label released the work of American punk rock, thrash metal and new wave music bands. Caroline had a number of subsidiary labels, including Astralwerks, Gyroscope, Caroline Blue Plate, Beat the World, Scamp and Passenger. Flipper is an American punk rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1979, continuing in often erratic fashion until the mid-1990s, then reuniting in 2005.
