Vladimir Sosnovsky
Vladimir Sosnovsky ( uk, Володимир Сосновський; 1922–1990) was a Ukrainian artist, known as a landscape and realist painter. He was born in Nova Ushytsia, Khmelnitzky Region, Ukraine. In 1928 his family moved to Odesa. As a child he showed a love of drawing, and his parents sent him to art school. In 1939, he joined the Grekov Odesa Art School, but with the onset of World War II, after completing only two years of study, he was asked to serve at the front. On his return in 1945, he continued his studies under well-known artist Leonid Mutchnik. In 1948, he entered the Kyiv Art Institute and graduated in 1954. He then worked as a deputy director at the Odesa Western and Oriental Art Museum. From 1956 he taught painting at the Odesa Theatre and Art College until his death in 1990. Sergey Anatolyevich Sosnovski ( be, Сяргей Сасноўскі (Syarhey Sasnowski); russian: Серге́й Сосновский; born 14 August 1981) is a Belarusian football coach and former player (defender (association football), defender). Club career Sosnovski was born in Minsk and signed his first professional contract with local club FC Traktor Minsk, Traktor Minsk. He played an important role in BATE Borisov's 2008–09 UEFA Champions League, Champions League campaign, heading in a goal against Bulgarian Levski Sofia to open the scoring for FC BATE in the return leg of the third qualifying round played on 27 August 2008. The match ended in a 1–1 draw and the team from Barysaw became the first Belarusian club to reach the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, Champions League. Heracleum Sosnowskyi
''Heracleum sosnowskyi'', or Sosnowsky's hogweed, is a monocarpic perennial herbaceous flowering plant in the carrot family Apiaceae. Its native range includes the central and eastern Caucasus regions of Eurasia and extends into the southern Caucasus region called Transcaucasia. The native ranges of ''Heracleum sosnowskyi'' and ''Heracleum mantegazzianum'', a close relative, overlap in the Caucasus region. Sosnowsky's hogweed is now a common weed in the Baltic States, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland. Early botanists considered ''H. sosnowskyi'' to be a subspecies of ''H. mantegazzianum''. Sosnowski's hogweed was described as a separate species by Ida P. Mandenova in 1944. The species is named in honor of the Russian botanist Dmitrii Ivanovich Sosnowsky (1885–1952), who found the species in Georgia in 1936.
