Sorud-e Zan
"Soroode Zan" () is a song by Iranian singer and composer Mehdi Yarrahi. Composed by Yarrahi and written by Mona Borzouei, it is a protest song with musical composition of anthem style, released eighteen days after the Death of Mahsa Amini —which sparked a massive global protests all around the world— inspired by her death and its aftermath. Beginning with the "Woman, Life, Freedom" slogan, in the lyrics, the narrators are calling everyone to join them in the Mahsa Amini protests. The song was highly acclaimed by the Mahsa Amini protesters and was used many times as a protest anthem in the demonstrations, including on October 11, 2022, during the strikes the song was performed by the students of Tehran University of Art, Tehran Art University, creating the word "blood" with the students shaping themselves. Mehdi Yarrahi
Mehdi Yarrahi ( fa, مهدی یراحی,born 14 November 1981 in Ahvaz) is an Iranian singer, musician, and activist living in Tehran. He began his professional career in 2010. In December 2018 in a concert due to wearing the uniform of workers arrested in 2017-2018 labor protests in Khuzestan and for releasing the music video of ''Pare Sang'' (Broken Stone), he was banned from performing and appearing on stage/TV by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. After six months and easing the ban from singing in 17 July 2019, he was again banned from performing in February 2020. "Baraye" ( fa, برای, lit. "For" or "Because of") is a power ballad by Iranian singer-songwriter Shervin Hajipour inspired by the death of Mahsa Amini and its aftermath. Widely referred to as "the anthem" of the protests, "Baraye" received huge critical acclaim for its vocals and portrayal of the emotions of the Iranian people all around the world.
