Bertram Luiz Leupolz Airport is the airport serving Sorocaba, Brazil. It is operated by Rede Voa. History The airport was commissioned in 1942. On March 5, 2012, the government of São Paulo state announced the concession of an area of the airport to Embraer. The latter plans to build and develop a service center of executive aviation in the new facility. Embraer considers the airport an ideal location because it is located only 90 km away from São Paulo downtown. On July 15, 2021 the concession of the airport was auctioned to Rede Voa, under the name Consórcio Voa NW e Voa SE. The airport was previously operated by DAESP DAESP - Departamento Aeroviário do Estado de São Paulo ( en, Airways Department of São Paulo State) was the São Paulo state (in Brazil) aviation department. DAESP
DAESP - Departamento Aeroviário do Estado de São Paulo ( en, Airways Department of São Paulo State) was the São Paulo state (in Brazil) aviation department. DAESP was part of the ''Secretaria de Transportes do Governo do Estado de São Paulo'' ( en, Transportation Secretariat of the State of São Paulo), and was responsible for the management of 21 public airports within the state, in accordance to directives from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC). It was created in 1963 as ''Diretoria de Aeroportos'' ( en, Directorate of Airports) of the ''Secretaria de Viação e Obras Públicas'' ( en, Public Works and Transit Secretariat). This Directorate was changed to DAESP in 1966. DAESP was extinct on April 14, 2022. Rede Voa
Rede Voa, previously known as Voa São Paulo or Voa-SP in short, is a private Brazilian airports administration consortium, responsible for sixteen Brazilian regional and municipal airports administrative operations. On March 15, 2017 Voa São Paulo was granted the concession to operate five airports by the government of the State of São Paulo (state), São Paulo, previously operated by DAESP. On July 15, 2021 eleven airports managed by DAESP had their concessions auctioned to Voa São Paulo, under the name Consórcio Voa SE.
