Sorel-Tracy Éperviers
The Sorel-Tracy Éperviers (Sorel-Tracy Hawks) are a professional ice hockey team based in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. The team is part of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH). The Éperviers play at the Colisée Cardin. Initially, the team was based in Saint-Gabriel, Quebec and was called the Blizzard. Its first season was the 1996–97 season, where they captured the Futura Cup. The team then moved to Joliette, Quebec in 1998. It changed its name from Blizzard to Mission before the 2000–01 season. During its time in Joliette, they won a further two Futura Cups in 1998-99 and 2000–01. Before the 2002–03 season, they moved to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. They played two season there, before they moved to Sorel-Tracy before the 2004–05 season. Sorel-Tracy (; ) is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada and the geographical end point of the Champlain Valley. It is located at the confluence of the Richelieu River and the St. Lawrence River, on the western edge of Lac Saint-Pierre, downstream and northeast of Montreal. Ray Bourque
Raymond Jean Bourque (born December 28, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He holds records for most career goals, assists, and points by a defenceman in the National Hockey League (NHL). He won the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL's best defenceman five times, while finishing second for that trophy a further six times. He also twice finished second in the voting for the Hart Memorial Trophy, a rarity for a defenceman. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (french: Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec; abbreviated ''QMJHL'' in English, ''LHJMQ'' in French) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league includes teams in the provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The current president of the QMJHL is Gilles Courteau. Sorel Éperviers
The Sorel Éperviers (Black Hawks) were a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1969 to 1981. The team was one of the founding members of the QMJHL. They mostly played at the Colisée Cardin in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, but also spent a few seasons at the Verdun Auditorium in the Montreal suburb of Verdun, Quebec. Rodrigue Lemoyne served as the team's general manager. Ray Bourque is also the only former Épervier in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Éperviers originated in the Quebec Junior Hockey League, and were the league's champion in 1969. Sorel were finalists in the eastern Canadian championship for the George Richardson Memorial Trophy, losing 3 games to 1 to the Montreal Junior Canadiens.
