''Suri'' is a 2000 Telugu-language film directed by Sankara Kumar (Editor Shankar) in his directorial debut. The film stars J. D. Chakravarthy and Priyanka Trivedi. It was produced by Tammareddy Bharadwaja. The lead actor J. D. Chakravarthy also provided the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film, though he was not credited in the movie credits. ''Suri'' released on 28 December 2000 and was a box-office disaster. J. D. Chakravarthy himself produced and directed the Hindi version of the film titled ''Durga (2002)''. Cast * J. D. ''Soori'' is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, written and directed by Selvan, a former associate of director S. Shankar. The film stars Vignesh, Uma and Vijayalakshmi whilst Chinni Jayanth, Senthil and Manobala play supporting roles. Parthiban plays a thug in a guest appearance. The film, produced by P. Vijayakumar, had a musical score by Deva while Vijay Milton and Suresh Urs were cinematographer and film editor respectively. The film was released on 19 December 2003 to mixed reviews. The film's story revolves around a sales representative who falls in love with a student. He accepts to separate from his lover for one year to test their love endurance. Paravastu Chinnayya Soori
Paravastu Chinnayasuri (1806/7–1861/2) (Telugu: పరవస్తు చిన్నయ సూరి) was a Telugu writer who played a prominent role in the elevation of prose to importance in Telugu literature. He was the first Telugu Pandit at the Presidency College, Madras. He was born in 1806/7 in Perambur of Chengalpattu district and died in 1861/2. Suri was born in a Satani family as the son of Venkata Rangayya, a Vaishnavite Scholar. He worked as a Telugu teacher at Pachaiyappa's College in Madras. He also worked as a law scholar for the Supreme Court of East India Company. He was a Pundit in the Sanskrit, Telugu, Prakrit, and Tamil languages. He was acclaimed as a profound scholar in Telugu and Sanskrit in the traditional education. Duniya Soori
Suri/Soori known as Duniya Suri or Sukka Suri is an Indian movie director. He became known as Duniya Suri in the wake of the success of his debut movie '' Duniya'', for which he won the 2006–2007 Karnataka State Film Awards in the Best Screenplay category. Suri came to fame after the ''Duniya'' release, for its realistic style. The work brought a different dimension to Kannada movies. His second film ''Inthi Ninna Preethiya'' though critically acclaimed, performed poorly at the box office, while his next project ''Junglee'' was a greater critical and commercial success. Ramalakshmanan Muthuchamy, professionally known as Soori, is an Indian actor and comedian who predominantly appears in Tamil film industry. Career Soori moved from Madurai to Chennai in 1996 with the intention of becoming an actor in the Tamil film industry. After failing to get any roles, he took up work in the city as a cleaner to fund his acting ambitions. He made occasional uncredited roles in films portraying a junior artiste who would appear in comedy scenes, appearing in films such as ''Winner'' (2003). The actor appeared in ''Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu'' (2009). Soori got this suffix to his name because of the 'parotta competition' scene in which he stuns the hotelier by eating 50 parottas and getting ready to eat the same number once again.
