Sony Music Entertainment US Latin LLC (often referred to as Sony Music Latin) is a record label owned by Sony Music. The label focuses on artists of Latin music. History In 1979, CBS Records (now Columbia Records) ended its partnership with Caytronics after eleven years of distribution. CBS established its own division for Latin music in 1980 called CBS Discos (also known as Discos CBS). In 1988, CBS Records was acquired by Sony and its Latin division was renamed to Sony Discos in 1991. In 2003, Sony Discos was re-branded as Sony Norte following the departure of former Sony Discos president Oscar Llord. A year later, Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) merged with Sony Music and Sony Norte was renamed to Sony BMG Norte. Top Stop Music is an independent record label founded by Puerto Rican producer, Sergio George in 2009 based in Delray Beach, Florida. History Sergio George was known for producing albums for salsa musicians during his work with RMM Records & Video during the 1990s. Following the purchase of RMM Records in 2001, George left the company to pursue his own independent record. The record's first album, '' Ciclos'' by Luis Enrique received a Latin Grammy Award for Best Salsa Album in 2009. The lead single, " Yo No Sé Mañana" was also given a Latin Grammy Award for "Tropical Song of the Year". La India, who worked with George in the past, released her album '' Unica'' which reached number one on the Tropical Album charts. Calle 13 is a Puerto Rican alternative hip-hop band formed by stepbrothers Residente (lead vocalist, songwriter) and Visitante (multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, beat producer), along with their half-sister iLe, also known as PG-13 (backing vocals). Enochian ( ) is an occult constructed language — said by its originators to have been received from angels — recorded in the private journals of John Dee and his colleague Edward Kelley in late 16th-century England. Kelley was a scryer who worked with Dee in his magical investigations. The language is integral to the practice of Enochian magic.
