The Sonorama Festival (since 2008 Sonorama-Ribera) is an annual music festival which takes place in the city of Aranda de Duero, in Castile and León (Spain), since 1998. It is organized by the cultural association, and non-profit, "Art de Troya", in mid-August each year. The line up mainly consists of indie pop, indie rock, and electronic music. With a progressive growth, has become one of the biggest summer festivals in Spain, and it is broadcast live on Spanish National Radio: Radio 3. In 2010, it was awarded as the 3rd best Spanish festival by the readers of the magazine Rockdelux, as 4th best Spanish festival by magazine Mondosonoro. Also, it has been nominated for the Independent Music Awards, organized by the Unión Fonográfica Independiente, in the category of "Best Music Festival in Spain" in 2010 and in 2012. Aranda De Duero
Aranda de Duero is a city and municipality, capital of the Ribera del Duero comarca, in the south of the province of Burgos, in Castile and León, Spain. It has a population of roughly 33,000 people and lies on the River Duero. The closest international airport is Madrid Barajas. Xoel López (born 12 August 1977) is a Spanish alternative rock musician, formerly known as Deluxe, from A Coruña, Galicia (Spain), Galicia. María Nieves Rebolledo Vila, better known by her stage name Bebe (born 9 May 1978), is a Spanish singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to international fame with the singles "Malo" and "Ella". Biography María Nieves Rebolledo Vila was born in Valencia, Spain, although very soon she moved to Extremadura, where she spent her entire childhood. Her parents were members of the Extremaduran folk group Surberina. Vetusta Morla
Vetusta Morla is a Spanish indie-rock band originally from the city of Tres Cantos located near Madrid, Spain. The band was formed in 1998 and took its name from the giant old tortoise Morla, a character in the children's book ''The Neverending Story'' by Michael Ende. "Vetusta" means "extremely old" or "decrepit" in Spanish. The history of Vetusta Morla began in the summer of 1998 at the José Sampedro Cultural Center in Madrid, where a few students decided to perform at the institute's culture week and founded a rock band. This project was more like a hobby for the participants; lead singer Pucho was engaged in graphic design, drummer David "el Indio" ("the Indian") Garcia worked as a teacher, guitarist Juan Manuel Latorre had a program on Radio 3, and keyboardist Jorge Gonzalez taught physics. The Sunday Drivers
The Sunday Drivers was a Spanish indie-pop group that was formed in Toledo, Spain in 1999. They retired after playing for the last time on July 17, 2010, at the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB). They were winners of several contests of new bands, including the "Young Artists Competition of Castilla La Mancha." They provided songs for TV commercials such as the promotional advertising campaign for Castilla La Mancha. They recorded in "The Concert Radio3" at least three times.
