Sonny Leon is a Venezuelan jockey (born 1989 or 1990 in Aragua, Venezuela). He rode Rich Strike to victory in the 2022 Kentucky Derby and the second largest payout to win in history of the Derby. Rich Strike ( foaled April 25, 2019) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse that won the 2022 Kentucky Derby, racing at 80–1 odds. Rich Strike is the second-biggest longshot to have won the Kentucky Derby after Donerail (91–1 odds) in 1913. He was not in the field until Ethereal Road was scratched the day before, with Rich Strike being added from the also-eligible list for the Derby. Belterra Park, formerly known as River Downs, is a racino located in Anderson Township, Hamilton County, Ohio, just outside the southeast limits of Cincinnati. It is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Boyd Gaming. History River Downs opened in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1925 as the Coney Island Race Track.
