Songsoptok
''Songsoptok'' (''Shôngshôptôk'') is a drama serial which aired on Bangladesh Television. It was first filmed in the year 1971, but filming was stopped after just four episodes as the liberation war started in March. After many years, filming restarted in 1988; but it was put on hold yet again after the widespread floods started. Filming was resumed after the floods ceased. It is based on the novel of the same name by Shahidullah Kaiser. Various actors starred in the drama, including Humayun Faridi. Plot overview The drama depicts the lives and struggles of the inhabitants of a village called Bakulia during the British Raj. The village has two influential but feuding families, the Miyas and the Syeds. Tarin Jahan
Tareen Jahan (born 26 July) is a Bangladeshi actress, model and singer. In 1987 or 1988, she stood first at the reality television competition program Notun Kuri for acting, dancing and storytelling divisions. Since then she started working on television as a child artist. She won Meril Prothom Alo Awards in 2006, 2007 and 2012. Early life Jahan came first in the acting, dancing, and storytelling category in Bangladeshi talent hunt ''Notun Kuri'' in 1985. She took classical music lessons from Hasan Ikram Ullah. Humayun Faridi
Humayun Kamrul Islam (known as Humayun Faridi; 29 May 1952 – 13 February 2012) was a Bangladeshi actor and drama organiser. He worked in television dramas, movies and theatre plays. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his lead role in the film ''Matritto'' (2004). He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2018 by the Government of Bangladesh. Shahidullah Kaiser
Shahidullah Kaiser (16 February 1927 – disappeared 14 December 1971) was a Bangladeshi novelist and writer. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1969, Ekushey Padak in 1983 and Independence Day Award in 1998. Ferdousi Mazumder (; born 18 June 1943) is a Bangladeshi film, television and stage actress. She was awarded Ekushey Padak (1998, Independence Day Award and Ekushey Padak (2020) by the Government of Bangladesh. Khalil Ullah Khan (known as Khalil; 2 February 1934 – 7 December 2014) was a Bangladeshi film and television actor.
