Song Of India (film)
''Song of India'' is a 1949 American adventure film directed by Albert S. Rogell and starring Sabu, Gail Russell and Turhan Bey. Plot Jungle adventure drama about a young man and his wild animal friends attempting to thwart a government-approved hunting expedition. Cast Production Filming took place on 19 June 1948, after two weeks of second unit filming. Gail Russell was borrowed from Paramount Pictures. Ian MacDonald (actor)
Ian MacDonald (born Ulva Pippy, June 28, 1914 – April 11, 1978) was an American actor and producer during the 1940s and 1950s. He is perhaps best known as villain Frank Miller in '' High Noon'' (1952). Early years MacDonald was the son of Rev. William Pippy and Sarah MacDonald Pippy. He attended schools in Helena, Montana, and developed an interest in acting while he was a student at Helena High School. He continued acting at Intermountain College in Helena, from which he graduated in 1934. He taught school for two years in Marysville before he moved to Hollywood, after which he washed dishes at a YMCA and studied drama at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. Military service MacDonald served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He entered on July 13, 1942, and was discharged on April 15, 1946, reaching the rank of captain. Rodd Redwing (August 24, 1904 – May 29, 1971) was born Webb Richardson on August 24, 1904 in Tennessee, USA. His father, Ulysses William Richardson (b. 1873), was Black and was an elevator man from Tennessee. His mother, Lillian Webb (b. 1878), was also Black and worked as a manicurist and hairdresser. Lillian divorced her husband William in 1920. Their son Webb moved to New York to pursue a career in acting and appeared in the 1929 musical "Malinda" in Greenwich Village with a cast of African American performers. Webb later changed his birthname to Redwing, adopted a Native American identity, and changed his birthplace to New York City. Some sources reported that he used the Hindu-sounding name Roderick Rajpurkaii Jr. and said his father was a Brahmin mind reader from India.
