Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Jeff Tafolla
Saddle Creek Records is an American record label based in Omaha, Nebraska. Started as a college class project on entrepreneurship, the label was founded by Mike Mogis and Justin Oberst in 1993 (as Lumberjack Records). Mogis soon turned over his role in the company to Robb Nansel. The label is named after Saddle Creek Road, a major street that cuts through Midtown Omaha, and the beginnings of a scene whose members included Justin's brother Conor Oberst (then a solo artist, currently of Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Desaparecidos, and Monsters of Folk), Tim Kasher (then of Slowdown Virginia, currently of Cursive and The Good Life), and others. Collectively, they were known unofficially as the "Creekers". ''Someone Else's Déjà Vu'' is the third studio full-length from Son, Ambulance. It's the first full release by the band since 2004's ''Key''. The album is divided into four parts: ''A View of Minstrel Town'' (tracks 1-3), ''About the Public Square'' (tracks 4-7), ''To A Deserted Town'' (tracks 9-11), and ''Farewell Pulse'' (the final two tracks). Track 8, "and" (a forty-two second noise track), is not included in the list (though one would assume it to finish About the Public Square). This is the 120th release from Saddle Creek Records.
