"Sommaren i city" is a song written by Bobby Ljunggren, Håkan Almqvist and Eva Lindblad, and recorded by Swedish band Angel. The single was released in 1991 and became a hit upon release. It appeared on their 1992 album ''Äventyr i natten''. The song charted on the Svensktoppen for 12 weeks between 1 September and 17 November 1991, peaking at number three. The track was also recorded by the band Lollipops for their 2001 album ''Vårat sommarlov'', and Markus Landgren, Hannah Westin and Ida Hellberg from on the reality television show Fame Factory in 2003. Angel was a group from Degerfors in Sweden, breaking through with their 1991 chart success '' Sommaren i city''. History On 2 Augusti 2007, the band appeared during the Stockholm Pride schlager evening, performing the songs "Sommaren i city" and "Venus Butterfly". A "Sommarkrysset" appearance, aired over TV4, was done on 25 August 2007. The girls came from Degerfors and Karlskoga. Bobby Ljunggren (born 1961) is a Swedish songwriter. He has entered the Eurovision Song Contest as a composer six times, five times for his native Sweden (1995, 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010), and once for Lithuania, in 2005. He is a veteran of the Melodifestivalen competition, with 50 entries, reaching the milestone of half a century of entries at Melodifestivalen 2020. The sitar ( or ; ) is a plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in Hindustani classical music. Bhangra () is a type of non-traditional music of Punjab originating in the Southall area of United Kingdom. It is a type of upbeat popular music associated with the Punjabi diaspora in Britain. The style has its origins in the folk music of Punjab as well as western pop music of the 1970s and 1980s. Prior to this musical fusion, Bhangra existed only as a dance form in the native Punjab. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list.
