Somervale School
Somervale School is situated in Midsomer Norton in Bath and North East Somerset in South West England. The school, which has academy status, is a specialist Arts College. It is one of two schools in the area, providing secondary education to local children and some pupils who live outside the catchment area. The number of pupils on the school roll is 538. A fall in the number of pupils prompted the school to propose a federation with nearby Norton Hill School in March 2009. Norton Hill School
Norton Hill School is a state school with academy status in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, England. It is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership academy group. It was formerly the Midsomer Norton Grammar School. The school had 1,519 students from the age of 11 to 18 as of 2013 including 266 in the sixth form. Chris Urch
Chris Urch is an English playwright. He trained at the Drama Centre as an actor, before turning to writing plays. His first full-length play ''Land of Our Fathers'', set in a Welsh coalmine on the eve of the 1979 general election, received wide critical acclaim when it opened at Theatre503 in London in 2013. Crimean War

Norton House (Somerset)
Norton House was a mansion in Midsomer Norton, Somerset. It was built around 1789 by the Savage family, investors in mines in the Somerset Coalfield. It was demolished in 1937-8 to make way for housing but several features from the house and its estate survive to this day. Early history A Duchy of Cornwall estate map of 1787 shows the grounds of Norton House acquired by Thomas Savage. Records show plans for the house by Thomas Savage being laid out in 1789 on the land, close to the centre of Midsomer Norton. It is likely there was an earlier house on the site. Somer Valley FM is a local community radio station in North East Somerset that serves Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Westfield, Somerset, Westfield and surrounding areas. It was launched in 2008. Ownership and structure The station is owned by Somer Valley Community Radio Limited, a not-for-profit organisation that exists for community benefit. The company's Board of Directors has ultimate responsibility for every aspect of the running of Somer Valley FM. Eco-Schools is an international programme of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) that aims to “empower students to be the change our sustainable world needs by engaging them in fun, action-orientated, and socially responsible learning.” Each school follows a seven step change process and aims to “empowers young people to lead processes and actions wherever they can.” Over time and through commitment to the Eco-Schools Seven Step process, improvements will be seen in both the learning outcomes, attitude, and behaviour of students and the local community, and ultimately the local environment.
