Sri Sathya Sai district is a district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Its headquarters is at Puttaparthi. It was formed on 4 April 2022 from the Dharmavaram revenue division, Dharmavaram, Penukonda revenue division, Penukonda, Kadiri revenue division, Kadiri revenue divisions and a new Puttaparthi revenue division, with all three carved out of Anantapur district. While it has been undertaken every 10 years, beginning in 1872 under British Viceroy Lord Mayo, the first complete census was taken in 1881.
