Philippe Sollers
Philippe Sollers (; born Philippe Joyaux; 28 November 1936) is a French writer and critic. In 1960 he founded the ''avant garde'' literary journal '' Tel Quel'' (along with writer and art critic Marcelin Pleynet), which was published by Le Seuil and ran until 1982. Sollers then created the journal '' L'Infini'', published first by Denoel, then by Gallimard with Sollers remaining as sole editor. Sollers was at the heart of the period of intellectual fervour in the Paris of the 1960s and 1970s. He contributed to the publication of critics and thinkers such Jacques Derrida, Jacques Lacan, Louis Althusser, and Roland Barthes. Some of them were later described in his novel '' Femmes'' (1983), alongside other figures of French intellectualism active before and after May 1968. Augustus Rhodes Sollers
Augustus Rhodes Sollers (May 1, 1814 – November 26, 1862) was an American politician who represented the seventh congressional district of the state of Maryland from 1841 to 1843, and the sixth congressional district from 1853 to 1855. He was a member of the Whig Party (United States). He was born near Prince Frederick, Maryland, and was admitted to the bar in 1836. He served as a member of the State Constitutional Convention of 1851, which drafted and submitted the Maryland Constitution of 1851 The Maryland Constitution of 1851 was the second constitution of the U.S. state of Maryland following the revolution, replacing the Constitution of 1776.
