Clive Stafford Soley, Baron Soley (born 7 May 1939) is a Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1979 to 2005, and has since then served as a Member of the House of Lords. Early life He went to Downshall Secondary Modern School (eventually ended up as Seven Kings High School) on Aldborough Road in Seven Kings near Ilford, then Newbattle Adult Education College in Newbattle, Midlothian, from 1961 to 1963. He did RAF National Service from 1959 to 1961. He went to the University of Strathclyde, where he gained a BA in Politics and Psychology in 1968, then the University of Southampton, where he gained a Diploma in Applied Social Studies in 1970. Jane Soley Hamilton (née Soley, 1805 – October 2, 1897) of Brookfield, Nova Scotia was a noted pioneer midwife and has been cited by many sources as an important figure in midwifery, nursing and medical practice in Canada. Jane Soley was born in 1805, the daughter of William and Mary Soley of Lower Truro. She married Robert Hamilton of Brookfield in 1825 and over the next 16 years gave birth to seven children, two of whom died in infancy. In July 1851, when her youngest was nearly 10 years old, Jane was called upon to assist at the birth of a relative. This started Jane on the career of midwifery that was to span 42 years and bring 776 children into the world. She officiated at most of the births in Hilden, Brookfield, Brentwood, Alton and Middle Stewiacke. Richard Mark Soley (born c. 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American computer scientist and businessman, and chairman and CEO of the Object Management Group, Inc. (OMG). He is also executive director of the Cloud Standards Customer Council, and executive director of the Industrial Internet Consortium, managed by the OMG. Sóley Stefánsdóttir (born 20 October 1987), better known simply as Sóley, is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Career Sóley studied classical and jazz style piano as a child and later went to the Icelandic Art Academy to study composition to become a proficient pianist and guitarist. Although hailing from Iceland, she sings primarily in English both in her solo and group work. She became part of the seven-piece Icelandic indie-folk band, Seabear, in 2006. Guðrún Sóley Gunnarsdóttir (born 15 September 1982) is an Icelandic former football defender who was part of Iceland's national team and competed at UEFA Women's Euro 2009. Guðrún was the captain of Breiðablik and also played in Sweden's Damallsvenskan for Djurgårdens IF Dam. During her career she won the Icelandic championship five times and the Icelandic Cup three times. In 2004, she won the NCAA championship with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
