Michał Sokołowski
Michał Sokołowski (born 11 December 1992) is a Polish professional basketball player for Beşiktaş Emlakjet of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). Sokołowski usually plays as small forward. Professional career Sokołowski started playing professionally for Anwil Włocławek in 2011–12 season. He stayed with the club for three seasons and signed with Rosa Radom in 2014. He won the PLK Best Defender award twice while playing with Rosa Radom, in 2015–16 and 2016–17 season. He was also named the PLK Best Polish Player in season 2017–18. He signed with Zielona Góra for 2018–19 season. He was named once again the PLK Best Polish Player for season 2018–19. In July 2019, Sokołowski signed with his former club Anwil Włocławek. Jan Sokolowski
Jan Bogumił Sokołowski (24 May 1899 – 7 April 1982) was a Polish zoologist who worked as a professor at the University of Poznan, who was a specialist in ornithology and studied the birds of Poland and made efforts for their conservation. He was also a talented artist and a writer of popular articles which included his own illustrations. Early life and education Sokołowski was born in Dakowy Mokre near Buk in a wealthy family, the son of local administrator Alekse and Zofia née Gintrowicz. His mother owned a 120-hectar farm while his father came from an impoverished farming family and a tenant on the Nimierzyce estate. His grandfather Józef (1820-1876) was a participant in the 1848 and 1863 uprisings. As a young boy he took a keen interest in nature and often got into trouble, stung by bees once and nearly drowned while observing snails and fish. Alfred Sokołowski
Alfred Marcin Sokołowski (11 November 1849 in Włodawa - 8 March 1924 in Warsaw) was a Polish pulmonologist and professor of the University of Warsaw. He specialised in the field of Phthisiatry (study of tuberculosis) and he was one of the pioneers of modern treatment to diseases of the respiratory system. In 1908 founded the '' Towarzystwo Przeciwgruźlicze''. He contributed to the spread of medical knowledge about the disease, and he opened a treatment clinic in Zakopane. From 1880 until his death he worked in the editorial " Gazeta Lekarska" (Doctor's Newspaper) and his expert knowledge of tuberculosis produced many high quality journals on the subject. In 1914, Stanford University awarded him the title of Doctor honoris causa for his contributions to the field of phthisiatry. Monsignor Robert Sokolowski (born 3 May 1934) is a philosopher and Roman Catholic priest who serves as the Elizabeth Breckenridge Caldwell Professor of Philosophy at The Catholic University of America. Sokolowski's philosophical research is focused primarily on the discipline of phenomenology and interrelated sub-disciplines, though he has also written works from a theological perspective.
