Soham El Wardini
Soham El Wardini (born in 1953) is a Senegalese politician and former mayor of Dakar, Senegal. She is the first woman to be mayor of post-independence Dakar and the first deputy mayor of the city. Biography Wardini was born in 1953 in the rural community of Latmingué, Kaolack Region, Senegal. She and her 10 siblings were born to a Senegalese mother and Lebanese father. Following her father's death, her family moved to the city of Kaolack, where she attended high school. She majored in English at Cheikh Anta Diop University (then University of Dakar) and taught at various colleges. Wardini won the title of Miss Senegal and Miss Senegambia in 1970. Career In 1999, Wardini joined the Alliance of the Forces of Progress (Senegal), Alliance of the Forces of Progress. 2018 Summer Youth Olympics
The 2018 Summer Youth Olympics ( es, Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud de 2018), officially known as the III Summer Youth Olympic Games, and commonly known as Buenos Aires 2018, were an international sports, cultural, and educational event held from 6 to 18 October 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They were the first Youth Olympic Games held outside of Eurasia, and the first Summer Games held outside of Asia and the first to be held in the Western and Southern hemispheres. It was the second Olympic Games held in South America after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bidding Six bids were initially submitted for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) uses icons, flags and symbols to elevate the Olympic Games. Thomas Bach (born 29 December 1953) is a German lawyer, former Olympic foil fencer and Olympic gold medalist, serving as the ninth and current president of the International Olympic Committee since 10 September 2013. He is also a former member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation executive board. Bach is the first ever Olympic champion to be elected President of the IOC. Horacio Rodríguez Larreta (born 29 October 1965) is an Argentine economist, politician and the current Chief of Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
