Sofia Iosifidou
Sofia Iosifidou (Σοφία Ιωσηφίδου, born 13 January 1981) was a Greek female water polo player. She was a member of the Greece women's national water polo team, playing as a Water polo positions, centre back Water Polo. Career She was a part of the team at the Water polo at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, 2008 Summer Olympics. On club level she played for Ethnikos Piraeus and ANO glyfada in Greece and is one of the four who has winning Three European champions league and eight national champions. Family Her father is water polo player Kyriakos Iosifidis, who was part of the Greece men's national water polo team at the 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics. Water Polo At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's water polo tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing was held from 11 August to 21 August at the Ying Tung Natatorium. Teams from eight nations competed, seeded into two groups for the preliminary round. 20 games were played, 12 of them in the preliminary round (each team played the other teams in the group). Eight games were played in the final round. Format The tournament featured eight teams, separated into two groups of four teams. Each team played the other three teams in its pool once in a round-robin format. Kyriakos "Koulis" Iosifidis ( el, Κυριάκος Ιωσηφίδης, born 27 January 1946 in Piraeus) is a retired Greek water polo player and water polo coach. The Greece men's national water polo team represents Greece in international men's water polo competitions and it is organized and run by the Hellenic Swimming Federation.
