Sofia Linette García Peralta (born 22 June 1998) is a Paraguayan professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. Early life and amateur career García was born in Asunción and enjoyed a successful amateur career. In 2013, she won the South American Junior Championship by ten strokes. She won the South American Amateur Golf Championship back to back in 2015 and 2016, the first winner from her country in this championship. In 2019, she won the Dutch International Junior Open. She represented Paraguay at the Campeonato Sudamericano Copa Los Andes seven times between 2012 and 2019, and at the Espirito Santo Trophy in 2016 and 2018. García attended Texas Tech University between 2016 and 2021, playing with the Texas Tech Red Raiders women's golf team. The Evian Championship, currently known for sponsorship reasons as The Amundi Evian Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in France, played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains. It was originally held in June, moved to July in 2003, and moved again to September in 2013. It returned to a July date in 2019. Founded in 1994 on the Ladies European Tour (LET) as the Evian Masters, it is one of two major championships on the LET. The Chevron Championship is a professional women's golf tournament. An event on the LPGA Tour, it is one of the tour's five major championships, and has traditionally been the first of the season since its elevation to major status in 1983. Fátima Fernández Cano (born 23 October 1995) is a Spanish professional golfer and member of the LPGA Tour. Early life, amateur and college career Cano was born in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. As a junior player, Cano won the Galicia Championships in 2005. She played college golf at Troy University between 2013 and 2017. While at Troy, she was the Sun Belt Conference individual champion her freshman year. The Carlisle Arizona Women's Golf Classic is a tournament on the Epson Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. It was first played in 2013 and has always been held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Q-School
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate, each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next stage. Carlos Franco
Carlos Daniel Franco (born 24 May 1965) is a Paraguayan professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He is the brother of golfer Ángel Franco. Franco was born in Asunción, Paraguay. He comes from a poor background and grew up in a one-room, dirt-floor home. His father was a greenkeeper and caddie, and he has five brothers, all of whom became golf professionals. Carlos turned professional in 1986 and has played in many parts of the world. He has won more than twenty tournaments in Latin America, and from 1994 to 1999 he won five times on the Japan Golf Tour.
