Soda Stereo (album)
''Soda Stereo'' is the debut album recorded by Argentine rock band Soda Stereo, released in August 27, 1984, through Discos CBS. It was produced by Federico Moura, then leader of the band Virus. The album allowed the band to enter into the Argentine music mainstream and contains some of their first hits like "Trátame Suavemente" and "Te Hacen Falta Vitaminas". Many songs from the album have been included in lists of best songs from Argentine rock and Latin American rock. It was certified double platinum in Argentina as well as in Peru and Chile within months of its release. The album cover was designed by the band alongside friend Alfredo Lois - it originally featured stills from the three members but they were deemed too photographic and were replaced with drawings and colored paper cuts on top of the pictures. Soda Stereo is an Argentine rock band formed in Buenos Aires in 1982 by Gustavo Cerati (lead vocals, guitar), Héctor "Zeta" Bosio (bass) and Carlos Alberto Ficicchia "Charly Alberti" (drums). As the first Hispanic group to achieve mainstream success in Latin America, critics have considered the group as one of the most influential and popular Spanish-language rock bands. Dorian Gray is a fictional character and the protagonist of Oscar Wilde's 1890 novel ''The Picture of Dorian Gray''. He is an aristocratic Victorian man. In journalism, jet set is a term for an international social group of wealthy people who travel the world to participate in social activities unavailable to ordinary people. The term, which replaced "café society", came from the lifestyle of travelling from one stylish or exotic place to another via jet plane. Men at Work are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1978 and best known for breakthrough hits such as "Down Under", "Who Can It Be Now?", "Be Good Johnny", " Overkill", and " It's a Mistake". Its founding member and frontman is Colin Hay, who performs on lead vocals and guitar. After playing as an acoustic duo with Ron Strykert during 1978–1979, Hay formed the group with Strykert playing bass guitar and Jerry Speiser on drums. They were soon joined by Greg Ham on flute, saxophone, and keyboards and John Rees on bass guitar, with Strykert switching back to lead guitar. Fischer-Z are a British rock group and main creative project of singer, guitarist and poet John Watts. In 1982 Watts temporarily dissolved Fischer-Z and started a solo career under his own name. John Watts has gone on to release both solo and Fischer-Z projects. The original line-up consisted of Watts (vocals, guitar), Steve Skolnik (keyboards), David Graham ( bass) and Steve Liddle (drums). The band's name is pronounced ("fisher zed"), a pun on "fish's head" with the "h" dropped, as is usual in many British regional accents. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora.
